With Easter approaching I have put together my favorite two ways of coloring eggs. Have no fear they include minimal mess and both use safe ingredients for the little ones. Please note that these egg coloring strategies can be used for any occasion.
Recipe 1: Egg coloring with Whip Cream
Skills Developed | Targeted Senses |
Fine motor skills & eye hand coordination | Visual & tactile senses |
Ingredients:
- 1 large tub of extra-creamy whipped cream or whipped topping such as Cool Whip
- Gel or liquid food coloring ( gel food coloring has fun colors and makes brighter eggs)
- Hard boiled white eggs
- Distilled Vinegar
What to do:
- Mix few drops of food coloring with few drops of vinegar
- Spread whip cream into a shallow container
- In a separate container place your boiled eggs into vinegar for 2 min
- Take out the eggs and wipe dry
- Using a dropper, drip the colors across the whip cream
- Using a toothpick swirl the colors around
- Then place the egg into the colored whip cream and roll it around
- Once colored let it rest for around 10 minutes
- Wipe dry and voila! Beautiful eggs!
